The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Patiala celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Polo Ground, Patiala, in collaboration with the District Administration

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Patiala celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Polo Ground, Patiala, in collaboration with the District Administration.

Under the able guidance of Sh. Avtar Singh, Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala and under the supervision of Ms. Manni Arora, Civil Judge (Senior Division)-cum-Incharge Secretary, DLSA, Patiala, a tableau depicting the functioning and achievements of the District Legal Services Authority, Patiala was displayed. The tableau highlighted various themes such as free legal aid as a boon for the poor, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms as effective tools for amicable settlement and the toll-free legal services helpline number 15100, among others.

In addition, a stall was set up at Polo Ground, Patiala, showcasing the services provided by DLSA, Patiala. On this occasion, the general public was made aware of free legal services, the benefits of Lok Adalats, Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Conciliation and Mediation Centres and various Central/State Government as well as NALSA/PULSA welfare schemes. Pamphlets and informational literature were also distributed among the public to enhance legal awareness.

On this occasion, Sh. Avtar Singh, Hon’ble District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, DLSA, Patiala, emphasized the pivotal role of the Legal Services Authorities in ensuring access to justice for all, particularly for the marginalized and underprivileged sections of society, in consonance with the spirit of the Constitution of India. He also stressed the importance of legal literacy programmes, free legal aid services and the resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

On this occasion, the officers, staff of DLSA Patiala and Para Legal Volunteers, reaffirmed their commitment to serve the cause of justice with integrity, dedication and compassion.
