Patiala News: Blind players showcase their skills for the first time at the National Archery Championship

The 7th NTPC National Archery Championship, held at the Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports (NIS) in Patiala, has added a new and inspiring chapter. For the first time, blind archers participated in this prestigious competition and stunned everyone with their impressive performance.
Blind archers from various states across the country demonstrated excellent target accuracy through specialized techniques and training. With audio cues and guidance from coaches, these athletes are shooting with confidence, inspiring spectators and other athletes.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Ravindra Kumar Bali, President of the Punjab Archery Association, the organizer of the championship, said that this is the first time a blind category has been included in a national-level archery competition. Its objective is to promote an inclusive sports culture and provide a national platform for archers with disabilities. He expressed his pride in hosting a national-level championship for the Punjab Archery Association.
Navjot Singh, Honorary Secretary of the Punjab Archery Association, said that visually impaired archers have proven that sports are not just won with eyes, but with concentration, confidence, and hard work. Many athletes have established strong claims for the future by achieving impressive scores in the initial rounds.
The spectators who attended the competition also praised the performances of the blind archers and saluted their courage. Sports enthusiasts believe that this initiative will prove to be a milestone in integrating more archers with disabilities into sports in the future.
This historic participation of blind archery players in the National Archery Championship is not only a matter of pride for the Indian sports world but also sends a message that no obstacle is too big for courage.
On this occasion, Olympian, Dronacharya awardi ,Arjuna Awardee Chief Guest Sanjeeva Singh along with the team of Punjab Archery Association, special guest Varinder Kataria, renowned industrialist and Olympian Satyadev participated to give medals to the players who performed well.
