On the sixth day of the Patiala Heritage Festival being organized by the Punjab Government, the folk singing and pop show evening at the Polo Ground here, with their cultural and Sufi singing, renowned singers Manak Ali, Waris brothers, Kamal Heer and Manmohan Waris took this heritage festival to the peak with their singing. On this occasion, the audience danced to the songs sung by the Waris brothers and applauded profusely.
Manmohan Waris sang, ‘Tell the children who Punjab is called, The food eaten will be useful, Aja Bhabhi Jhoot Le, No..No.. My friend will be dear, My heart is beating fast’ and other famous songs. While Kamal Heer sang ‘No one’s work stops, everyone’s head goes’, ‘Childhood, sorrow, sorrow, views, keep up the war, I have increased the load on the long routes, We have brought you white trucks, Dakar is like a friend, Life is like a boy, Remembering who laughs’ etc. Both the brothers also sang many other famous songs together, Amma Jaye.. Tur To Meet Sahar, Pistol To Meet Bazaron, Sir De Taj Vee.
On this occasion, Mayor Kundan Gogia, Chairman District Planning Committee Tejinder Mehta, Improvement Trust Chairman Nabha Jassi Sohianwala, Deputy Commissioner Varjit Walia, ADC Simarpreet Kaur, Nodal Officer SDM Harjot Kaur Mavi enjoyed this beautiful evening of folk singing and honored Kamal Heer, singers Manmohan Waris and Manak Ali.
At this time, Mayor Gogia, Chairman Mehta and Jassi Sohianwala said that the Patiala Heritage Fair organized under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has proved to be important in providing information about our valuable heritage, culture and rich heritage to our future generation.
He said that such pure singing connects us with our heritage and gives a message to the younger generation to keep their lives high and true through music. He also congratulated the Punjab government and the district administration for organizing these heritage fairs.
The Waris brothers created a different atmosphere in the packed Polo Ground on the sixth day of the Roza Patiala Heritage Festival-2026, which is being organized by the District Administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Virjit Walia in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Punjab Government. The stage was conducted well by Suman Batra and NZCC Assistant Director Ravinder Sharma.
During the ceremony, Manak Ali first sang Sufi folk songs like ‘Bismillah, Rabba Sohnaan nu Kaid Kara De Tera Kana Mul Lag, Turban, Tappe, Mulla Yaar Manavan De Teri Lagi Tu Nibhay Weru Apni Nibhay De, Shah Hussain’s ‘Man Atkiya Beparwah De Naam Te’ etc. After this, Kamal Heer started with his childhood and showered his hit songs and later Manmohan Waris presented his songs and both of them sang some of their hit songs together.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Virjit Walia, SSP Varun Sharma, SP Palwinder Singh Cheema, ADC Simarpreet Kaur, SDM Harjot Kaur Mavi, Joint Commissioner Deepjot Kaur, SDM Richa Goyal, Chief Minister Field Officer Satish Chandra, PRTC AMD Navdeep Kumar, along with Patiala residents and music lovers participated in large numbers and enjoyed pop singing till late night.
