Pharmacy Students Celebrate Innovation and Knowledge on National Pharmacy Education Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 6: The Placebo Club of the School of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a vibrant celebration of National Pharmacy Education Day today at S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Desh Bhagat University.

 

The event began with opening remarks by Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, who highlighted the importance of pharmacy education in strengthening healthcare systems and encouraged students to pursue innovation and research in the field.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Puja Gulati, Director School of Pharmacy inspired students and faculty members with her insights on the evolving role of pharmacists in modern healthcare. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of S. Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, and Ms. Khushpal, Principal of Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy, who applauded the initiative and motivated students to excel academically and professionally.

 

The keynote lecture was delivered by Mr. Camy Goyal, Safety Aggregate Report Manager, ICSR Medical Oversight, IQVIA, Bangalore, who shared valuable industry perspectives and highlighted emerging career opportunities in pharmacovigilance and pharmaceutical sciences. Faculty members and students attended the guest lecture with great enthusiasm.

 

As part of the celebration, a Pharmacy Quiz Competition was organized to enhance subject knowledge and promote healthy academic competition. Students from B. Pharmacy and Pharm. D programmes participated actively, strengthening their conceptual understanding while demonstrating teamwork and quick thinking.

 

An E-Poster Competition was also conducted in alignment with the theme of the event, providing students with a platform to showcase their research ideas and creativity. Adding a creative dimension to the celebration, students presented a skit titled “Ek Pharmacist Desh Ki Shakti,” highlighting the vital role of pharmacists in nation-building and public health.The programme also featured cultural performances, where students displayed their talents while promoting confidence, creativity, and team spirit.

 

Dr Tajinder kaur Pro-Chancellor and Dr Harsh Sadawarti Vice-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University extended their best wishes to the organizing team and encouraged them to continue conducting such meaningful academic and co-curricular activities in the future.The event concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the commitment of the institution to promote excellence, innovation, and holistic development in pharmacy education.
