Fatehgarh Sahib: Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a programme on the occasion of its 13th Foundation Day. The programme was organised while following the directives of Punjab Government related to COVID-19. The programme started with the Bhog ceremony of Sri Sehaj Paath Sahib followed by recitation of sacred hymns of Gurbani by staff members of the department of music of the University. Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor, congratulated the staff and faculty members on this occasion. Dr. Singh counted the academic achievements of the University during 2019-20 by the students and faculty members. He said that the students made many accomplishments in the field of education. He also added that during this time of COVID-19 he ensures that during academic session 2020-21 students keep learning effectively via online mediums like that of Microsoft Teams, Google class rooms and Zoom. He mentioned that University is also organizing various online webinars and workshops by using online platforms for the benefit the society as well. He expressed his commitment to the vision statement of the University i.e. creation of value based knowledge society and said that the faculty and staff members are striving hard consistently for the same.
Dr. Sikandar Singh, Dean Student Welfare of the University thanked all the faculty members and staff. Dr Hardev Singh, Asst. Professor, Dept of Religious Studies conducted the stage efficiently. Kadhah Prashad was distributed at the end of the programme. On this occasion, Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dean Research, Dr. S.S. Billing, Head, Dept. of Mathematics, Dr. Tejbir Singh, Head, Dept. of Physics, Dr. Jagjit Singh, Deputy Registrar, Dr. BirBikram Singh, Public Relation Officer and Head, faculty and staff members from different departments of the University were present.
