The 10-day Agniveer Recruitment Rally conducted by the Indian Army at Patiala has been successfully concluded. Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, the recruitment rally was conducted smoothly due to close coordination between the District Administration and Army Recruitment Office Patiala and the local military authorities of the Airawat Division, under the leadership of ADC (G) Anuprita Jauhal and Assistant Commissioner (G) Harjot Kaur.
The 10-day Agniveer Recruitment Rally was organised by Army Recruitment Office Patiala under the aegis of Zonal Recruitment Office Jalandhar at Raja Bhalindra Singh Sports Complex Polo Ground from July 30 to August 8, 2026, and has been appreciated as a model recruitment rally. Approximately 11,000 prospective Agniveer candidates participated during the rally.
In this rally, enthusiastic youth from the districts of Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Mansa, Barnala and Malerkotla, who had qualified the written examination held from June 1 to 10, 2026, participated in two stages. In the first stage, physical tests, including a 1.6-kilometre run, chin-ups, balance walk and 9-feet ditch jump, along with document verification, were conducted. Thereafter, the medical fitness test was conducted the next day. The rate of candidates qualifying the physical test was considerably better compared to previous years, which is a positive trend reflecting the increasing preparedness and enthusiasm of the youth.
ADC Anuprita Jauhal said that the recruitment rally conducted under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal was also visited by senior officers of the Airawat Division and the District Administration. The officers appreciated the arrangements and efforts made to ensure a clean, fair and transparent recruitment process.
The ADC said that during the rally, the Patiala District Administration and local military authorities provided the youth with the best facilities. These included breakfast, lunch, tea, lassi, mineral water, comprehensive medical facilities and 24-hour security by the Army and Police throughout the duration of the rally, besides surveillance through C.C.T.V.
Army officials said that ADC Anuprita Jauhal and Assistant Commissioner Navjot Kaur Mavi remained fully active on behalf of the District Administration from the planning of the rally to its implementation. Continuous coordination with the Army Recruitment Office Patiala ensured 24-hour monitoring of the logistics and administrative arrangements of the rally.
Meanwhile, Anuprita Jauhal said that the remarkable success of this recruitment rally is credited to the transparent and professional working of the Indian Army, along with the joint functioning and excellent coordination demonstrated by the Army and civil administration. This entire process has further strengthened the spirit among the youth of Punjab to join the Indian Army and serve the country with pride. During this rally, the Municipal Corporation, Public Works, Power Corporation, Sports Department, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Police Department, among other departments, also played an important role.
