Patiala News:Day 3: About 4 tons waste lifted in 3 days from Patiala Roads under PPCB’s Mission Clean Patiala Road Cleaning Drive;

The Punjab Pollution Control Board in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Patiala organised a cleanliness drive today at Bhupindra Road and Passy Road under its flagship ‘Mission Clean Patiala’ campaign.  The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of Our Lady of Fatima Convent School and Government Multipurpose Senior Secondary School. They were also joined by dedicated teams from Bhupindra Road Market Association, Manipal Hospital and “Mera Patiala Main Hee Sawara”, a voluntary citizens’ group dedicated to keeping Patiala clean. Over 2500 kg of waste was lifted from Passy Road and Bhupindra Road, making the overall waste of about 3900 kg lifted from seven major roads cleaned under the drive in three days.
Thanking the corporation and Patiala Traffic Police for their support in traffic management during the drive, Punjab Pollution Control Board Chairperson Reena Gupta said:
“Let us make cleanliness the new social norm. We invite citizens and civil society organisations to join hands in transforming this campaign into a people-led movement that inspires every generation. If everyone contributes just a few hours each month, we can create a cleaner, healthier and more livable Punjab.”
Motivating all to make Punjab the cleanest state of India, the chairperson urged the department of local government and people of Punjab to ensure source segregation of solid waste and proper disposal. Mrs Gupta also gave a call to all NGOs, Senior Citizen Associations, Eco Clubs and other associations of the city to join the mission and make Patiala the cleanest city of Punjab.
Launched in April 2026, under the ‘Mission Clean Patiala,’ PPCB has brought premiere institutions, enforcement agencies and community groups of Patiala. In the first phase of the campaign about 30 institutions had participated adopting over 30 public spaces for cleanliness drives and environmental stewardship. The organinsations included 18 schools, 10 colleges and four government organisations based out of Patiala city. As part of the second phase, which commenced in July 2026, seven more institutions have joined, taking the total count of participant institutions to 39.
