Patiala News:Deputy Commissioner honours 23 BLOs and Supervisors for outstanding performance during SIR

-9 BLOs from Patiala among the first 100 BLOs in Punjab to complete SIR work: Dr Himanshu Aggarwal

Twenty-three Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Supervisors who performed exceptionally well during the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR-2026) were honoured at the district level by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal with Certificates of Appreciation. Among them, nine BLOs were also presented certificates by Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Ms Anindita Mittra.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that nine BLOs from Patiala district figured among the first 100 BLOs in Punjab to complete the SIR-2026 exercise. These BLOs were issued certificates by the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. In addition, 14 other officers/employees who rendered exemplary services at the district level were also honoured with Certificates of Appreciation.

Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that election-related work is always a challenging responsibility, but the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls was an even more demanding and sensitive task. He said that the BLOs and Supervisors had set an example by discharging their duties with utmost dedication, honesty and commitment.

Congratulating the BLOs and Supervisors who received the Certificates of Appreciation, the Deputy Commissioner said that the remaining SIR work should also be completed with the same spirit and dedication, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India. He expressed hope that these employees would also serve as role models for other BLOs.

The Deputy Commissioner said that despite the weather remaining extremely hot and humid during the SIR exercise, the BLOs and Supervisors successfully completed the challenging task with determination and dedication. He said that all the officers and employees honoured for their outstanding performance deserved appreciation and congratulations.

Dr Aggarwal said that during the next phase of SIR, claims and objections should be received from voters whose names have been deleted from the electoral rolls or who, for any reason, could not be included in the rolls, and the remaining work should be completed smoothly. He said that the entire exercise is based on teamwork and any officer or employee requiring assistance may contact him without hesitation.

Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Anuprita Johal and Election Tehsildar Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were also present on the occasion.
