Under the guidelines of the Director, Language Department, Punjab, District Language Officer, Patiala is organizing District Level Punjabi and Hindi Literature Creation and Poetry Singing Competitions in the year 2026 like every year to instill literary interests in the students. Giving information about these competitions, Research Officer Dr. Manjinder Singh said that the aim of these competitions is to connect the students with language, literature and cultural heritage. According to the eligibility criteria, students up to class 10+2 of all government, aided and private schools of Patiala district can participate in these competitions. The department will give first place prize of Rs. 1,000, second place Rs. 750 and third place Rs. 500 and certificate as prizes to the winning students at the district level. Students who secure first place in the Punjabi Literature Creation and Poetry Singing Competitions at the district level will be able to participate in the competitions to be held at the state level. He said that in these competitions, each school can send entries of two students in each category. The entry form should be attested by the school head. Registration forms for these competitions can be submitted manually to the office of the District Language Officer, Bhasha Bhawan, Patiala till 31.8.2026.
