Patiala News:Advance Preparations for Census 2027 Phase-II Must Be Ensured: Dr Navjot Khosa

A review meeting to assess the preparations for Phase-II (Population Enumeration) of Census 2027 in District Patiala was held today under the chairmanship of Dr. Navjot Khosa, IAS, Director, Census Operations-cum-Chief Principal Census Officer, Punjab. The meeting was attended by Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, Damanjit Singh Maan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Manreet Rana, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Patiala, along with all SDMs, concerned officers, Charge Officers and officials engaged in Census-related activities.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Navjot Khosa appreciated the Charge Officers and field staff for successfully completing the Phase-I Census activities in the district within the stipulated timeframe. She said that advance planning and close coordination among all concerned departments are essential for completing the remaining Census-related activities within the prescribed timelines.
The Director, Census Operations, particularly appreciated the House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) work undertaken in the priority charges of the district and Municipal Corporation Patiala. Appreciating the sustained efforts of the district administration and Census functionaries, she expressed confidence that District Patiala would successfully accomplish all tasks related to Phase-II of Census 2027.
Chief Principal Census Officer Dr. Navjot Khosa directed the Principal Census Officers and Census Officers to ensure that all requisite arrangements for the smooth and effective conduct of Population Enumeration are completed well in advance and that the concerned staff remains fully prepared for the exercise. She said that Population Enumeration is a very important exercise and requires clear planning at every level, effective coordination and strict adherence to the prescribed instructions.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal assured that all Census-related activities in the district would be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He said that the district administration, in close coordination with Municipal Corporation Patiala, would extend all possible support for the successful completion of Phase-II of Census 2027.
Dr. Aggarwal said that the district administration and Municipal Corporation would carry out the Census exercise efficiently in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India, to ensure the collection of accurate and reliable data.
A detailed roadmap for the timely and smooth conduct of Population Enumeration under Phase-II of Census 2027 was also discussed during the meeting. All concerned officers were directed to complete the necessary preparations at their respective levels within the stipulated timeframe. On the occasion, officers and employees who had performed exceptionally well during the first phase were also honoured.
The meeting was attended by Damanjit Singh Maan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development)-cum-District Census Officer, Sonam, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Patiala, Manreet Rana, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Patiala, Census Advisor Karamjit Singh, all SDMs, Principal Charge Officers, Deputy Economic and Statistical Advisor Jaswinder Kaur, Charge Census Officers, Executive Officers, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
