Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh today inaugurated a multi-specialty mega free medical camp at CHC Tripri. On this occasion, he said that the main objective of this camp is to provide quality and timely healthcare services to every citizen, especially those who cannot easily access the services of specialist doctors.
The Health Minister said that a team of specialist doctors from various departments of the Medical College has reached the camp, where people are being provided free facilities for expert medical consultation, diagnostic tests and timely identification of diseases under one roof.
He said that the objective of this camp is not only to provide treatment after the onset of a disease, but also to promote disease prevention, timely screening and treatment at the early stage. He said that timely identification of diabetes, blood pressure, heart diseases, cancer and other serious diseases can save many precious lives.
On this occasion, the Health Minister also inaugurated a new ultrasound machine at CHC Tripri. He said that providing modern facilities in health institutions will enable people to get better healthcare services near their homes.
He appealed to the people who attended the camp not to ignore any health-related symptoms and to seek medical advice on time. He said that a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise and timely health check-ups should be made a part of life.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shelly Jetley, SMO Dr. Parneet Kaur, Dr. Balkar Singh, besides senior officials of the Health Department, specialist doctors who arrived from the Medical College, all medical and paramedical staff and other dignitaries were present.
