Patiala News:HPV vaccination awareness seminar held in SSS Model Town

Under the guidance of Director Health and Family Welfare Punjab and Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Sally Jaitley, students To create awareness about HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and to prevent diseases caused by it, a special awareness seminar on HPV vaccination was organized at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Model Town. On this occasion, the officials of the Health Department gave detailed information to the students about HPV virus , its effects , prevention methods and the importance of vaccination. On this occasion, a poster competition was also organized for the students to create awareness about HPV vaccination and its prevention.

Addressing the seminar, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Kushaldeep Gill said that HPV is a common virus and vaccination is an important preventive measure to prevent its infection. HPV infection can lead to serious health problems including cancer in some cases. Information was also given about the importance of HPV vaccination and timely health check-ups for the prevention of cervical cancer, especially in women.

Dr. Ishita explained to the students that vaccination is an effective way to prevent diseases and children of suitable age should consult their parents and health experts while taking decisions regarding vaccination. During this, correct and scientific information was also shared while dispelling common misconceptions, myths and misinformation regarding HPV vaccine. In the seminar, the students were motivated to adopt a healthy lifestyle, take care of personal hygiene and consult a qualified health worker or doctor regarding any health problem. He said that prevention of diseases and imparting correct health information to the youth is very important for a healthy future generation.

At the end of the seminar, the students were motivated to share the information received about HPV and its prevention with their families and society. On this occasion, Senior Medical Officer Model Town Dr. Lavkesh Kumar, Principal S. Bhagwant Singh, Dr. Jitender Kaur, Dr. Kiran, S. Rajinder Singh, Mrs. Jaskiran Kaur, Mrs. Navjot Kaur, Mass Media Wing team and Health Department employees were present.
