-Language Department Punjab celebrated Sanskrit Day

The Language Department Punjab celebrated Sanskrit Diwas at the Seminar Hall of Bhasha Bhawan here. During which various scholars presented their views and the Kavishri Jatha gave uniqueness to the event with singing. Shiromani Sanskrit Sahityakar Dr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma Gautam presided over the event and the Coordinator of the North India Region of Sanskrit Bharati Shri Narendra Kumar presented his views as the main speaker. Eminent poet Bhim Singh Mauran Wale recited poetry.

Director Language Department S. Jaswant Singh Zafar said during the welcome speech that Punjabi region is the cradle of languages. Where many languages including Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and Sanskrit flourished and gained acceptance. Being ancient among these languages, Sanskrit has a place like a grandmother. He said that we should be proud that the world’s first literature in the form of Rigveda was created in Sanskrit language on our land. Sanskrit vocabulary has also been used in a large amount in the world’s universally accepted scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib. From which one can easily guess the place of Sanskrit language. Therefore, it can be said that our ancestors provided education and wisdom to the world. It is a pity that the languages of this region were used by politics to create division.

Speaker Shri Narendra Kumar said that the basis of the creation and existence of any nation is considered to be its language, culture and land. We are proud that we have a language like Sanskrit, a culture of sages and sages and a land of great men. He said that many countries of the world have lost their existence or are in danger due to lack of preservation and recognition of the above three things. He said that many languages of India have their roots in Sanskrit, understanding Sanskrit is very important to understand languages. He said that the identity of most of the states of our country is made up of their language, which is a proof of the diversity of the country.

On this occasion, the group of renowned poet Bhim Singh Mauranwale started by singing Vandana in Sanskrit. Then they presented poems based on the knowledge gained in our ancient Sanskrit literature. The event reached its peak through poems like ‘Parupkaar karan pari bete tu dunia te aya’ and ‘Rukiyaan na khaai, chopard ke khaai’ etc. In his presiding speech, Dr. Mahesh Chandra Sharma Gautam said that at present Sanskrit language is flourishing a lot in our country, that is, it is going through its golden era. He also appreciated the work being done by the Language Department for the development of Sanskrit language. He said that Sanskrit has a close relationship with Punjabi language. The proof of which is given by the fact that knowledge of Sanskrit is mandatory to understand Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

Mr. Pran Sabharwal spoke interestingly about the role of Sanskrit in his activities and studies. Finally, all the guests and the Kavishri Jatha were honored with departmental shawls and books. Deputy Director Alok Chawla thanked everyone. The stage was conducted by Assistant Director Devinder Kaur. On this occasion, Padma Shri Pran Sabharwal, Assistant Director of Uttar Kshetra Cultural Center Ravinder Sharma, Dr. Pushpinder Kaur, Naveen Bharti, Dr. Asha Kiran, poet Avtarjit, Gurdarshan Singh Gusil, Gulzar Patialvi, Vinod Kaushal, Joga Singh Khiva and a large number of literary enthusiasts were present.
