“Late Bapu S. Ajit Singh Toor was a very dedicated, passionate and religious personality, who lived his entire life with honesty and simplicity.” This was expressed by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, today at the historic Gurdwara Sri Moti Bagh Sahib during the last rites and tribute ceremony for late S. Ajit Singh Toor. On this occasion, a devotional kirtan was performed by the group of former Hazuri Raagi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Bhai Ravinder Singh, while the ardas was performed by Head Granthi Bhai Harwinder Singh.

It is noteworthy that Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s sister Biba Manpreet Kaur’s husband S. Tarlok Singh Toor’s father S. Ajit Singh Toor passed away at the age of about 80 after being ill for some time. On the occasion of his last rites, the Chief Minister’s mother Sardarni Harpal Kaur, along with Punjab Cabinet Ministers and Aam Aadmi Party State Presidents Aman Arora, Tarunpreet Singh Saund and Hardeep Singh Mundian, State General Secretary Baltej Singh Pannu, Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh along with a large number of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, Chairman, Vice Chairman, other leaders, relatives and relatives besides a large number of political, religious and social personalities paid tribute to the late S. Ajit Singh Toor.

Paying tribute to the departed soul on behalf of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann said that Bapu S. Ajit Singh Toor spent his entire life with simplicity and religious fervor and did welfare work among the people. She said that Bapu Ajit Singh’s harmonious nature and simple life will always be a source of inspiration for the family and those who come in contact with him. She prayed to God to give the family the strength to bear the loss and grant the departed soul eternal rest at his feet.

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann thanked the entire Sangat on behalf of the family and said that the separation of a father is very painful for the family. The demise of Bapu S. Ajit Singh Toor has caused an irreparable loss to the Toor family. She said that S. Tarlok Singh Toor and Biba Manpreet Kaur Toor served their father with full dedication and devotion, which is an example of respect and service towards parents even in today’s time. She said that although in today’s era it is often heard that the tradition of caring for the elderly has decreased, but the Toor family has proved this notion wrong by serving their father and has set an example.

On this occasion, a large number of family members and friends including the wife of late S. Ajit Singh Toor, Sardarni Harjit Kaur Toor, daughter Jasvir Kaur, grandsons Maninderpal Singh and Sukhwinderpal Singh, granddaughter Navjot Kaur, grandson-in-law Gurpreet Singh, great-grandson Harsanjog Singh were present.
