Patiala News:Roll Observer and Divisional Commissioner Vinay Bublani reviewed the special SIR camps set up at polling stations

-BLOs instructed to follow Election Commission’s instructions in a transparent manner: Vinay Bublani

-Special camps successfully held at all 1861 polling booths in Patiala district

-A large number of voters submitted claims/objections and new vote forms to booth level officers.

Special camps were set up at all 1861 polling booths of Patiala district today as per the guidelines of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab under Special In-depth Revision of Voter Lists (SIR) 2026.

Meanwhile, keeping in view the work of the second phase (notice phase/redressal of claims and objections) of the Special Intensive Revision by the Election Commission of India, Roll Observer-cum-Commissioner Patiala Division, Mr. Vinay Bublani, who was posted for Patiala district, visited these camps and reviewed them.

The Divisional Commissioner visited various polling booths set up at the polling stations set up at the Income Tax Department Headquarters in Patiala Urban constituency, Thapar Polytechnic College in Patiala Rural, Government Smart Senior Secondary School (Kalyan) in Samana constituency and Government Ripudaman College in Nabha constituency. He expressed complete satisfaction over the functioning of the ongoing camps.

Mr. Vinay Bublani interacted with the voters and while reviewing the performance of the BLOs, he directed that the work of the second phase of Special Intensive Revision should be carried out in a transparent manner and strict compliance of the instructions of the Election Commission should be ensured.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were present in the camps for the convenience of the voters. A large number of citizens filled the required forms and submitted them to their BLOs on the spot. These include Form No. 6 for new vote, Form No. 6A for registration as NRI voter and Form No. 8 for change of address, shifting or correction of details.

Dr. Agarwal further informed that for any information or assistance related to voter card, voter services and SIR process, apart from the helpdesks set up at the district and assembly constituency levels, the toll-free voter helpline number 1950 can also be contacted.

During the visit, OSD Urban Development Muklin R., ADC Urban Development-cum-ERO Navreet Kaur Sekhon, SDMs/EROs APS Somal, Gurdev Singh, Richa Goyal and Election Tehsildar Vijay Kumar Chaudhary along with other officials were also present.
