*People should throw garbage at designated points, not on the roads – Mayor Kundan Gogia*

Under the 10-day Mission Clean Punjab launched by the Punjab Government, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the city with full vigor. In this regard, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli appealed to the city residents to cooperate with the administration and the Municipal Corporation to make the city clean.

MLA Kohli said that the cleanliness of the city is not only the responsibility of the administration, but the joint responsibility of every citizen. He said that the Municipal Corporation has set up garbage collection points at different places in the city. He appealed to the people to throw garbage at the designated points instead of throwing it on the roads or public places.

Mayor Kundan Gogia said that under the Punjab government’s cleanliness campaign, people are being made aware of cleanliness and are also being associated with this campaign. He appealed to the city residents to take special care of cleanliness around them and contribute to keeping the city clean.

PPCB Chairperson Reena Gupta said that strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules for cleanliness and environmental protection. She said that challans will be issued to those who misuse plastic and those who violate the rules.

He said that every person will have to fulfill his own responsibility to make the city clean and environmentally sound. The efforts being made by the government and the administration can be made successful only with the cooperation of the people.

MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Mayor Kundan Gogia and PPCB Chairperson Reena Gupta jointly appealed to the city residents to be a part of the cleanliness drive and contribute their due share to make Patiala clean, beautiful and pollution-free.

On this occasion, Additional Commissioner Simarpreet Kaur, MC Harman Sandhu, Jagtar Jaggi, Sonia Das, State Joint Secretary Women Wing Monika Sharma, Rajinder Mohan President, Balwinder Singh Sidhu from Ward No. 58, Ghuman Singh Fauji in-charge from Ward No. 59, Ward No. 60 in-charge Rupinder Singh Koch and other dignitaries were also present.
