World University organised an event to commemorate first Centenary of establishment of SGPC

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized the second webinar in a series of online webinars on the 1st centenary celebrations of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Chief guest during the webinar, dedicated to the 100th founding year of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the University Chancellor and President, SGPC, Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal said that the SGPC is always ready to serve the humanity. Congratulating the Sikh Panth on the first centenary of the establishment of the SGPC, he said that we are facing very grave challenges for which the entire Khalsa Panth should unite.
Presiding over the function, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Prit Pal Singh said that the establishment of SGPC is considered as the first success in Indian independence movement. He said that the SGPC, came into being after the supreme sacrifices of the Sikh Panth, has made a tremendous contribution for the betterment of the society, education and upliftment of the Sikh Panth, in addition to the management of Sikh Shrines. Dr. Paramvir Singh, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala delibrated on the challenges faced by the SGPC from time to time and its emergence from these challenges. Dr. Amarjit Singh, Professor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar threw light on the policy of the British Government towards Sikhs and interference in the management of Sikh shrines. Dr. Gurjinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Patel Memorial National College shed light on the long struggle for the establishment of the committee.
Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing welcomed all the guests and members. Dr. Billing said that the contribution made by the SGPC in the field of management of Gurdwaras, welfare of humanity and education could not be overlooked. In this webinar, Dr. BirBikram Singh, Dean Alumni, and the Heads of various departments of the University, staff and students participated.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Head, Dept. of Sri Guru Granth Religious studies whereas Dr. Hardev Singh played the role of moderator in this webinar.
