Patiala News:Block level games were held on the 8th day of Sports Day 2026 in Punjab.
On the 8th day, block level games are being organized in three blocks of Patiala, Samana, Patran and Bhunarheri. In which athletics, football, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi National Style, Kabaddi Circle Style, Volleyball Shooting and Volleyball Smashing games are being organized in different age groups. Along with this, tennis ball cricket game is also being organized in Nabha, Shambhu Kalan, Sanaur, Ghanaur, Bhunarheri blocks.
Giving information about these games, District Sports Officer, Navjot Singh Dhaliwal said that the block level games were inaugurated today at the Chief Minister Sports Stadium, village Dedhana of Block Patran by Honorable MLA Shutrana Sri Kulwant Singh and Honorable MLA at Samana Chetan Singh Joramajra. At Block Bhunarheri, Ranjodh Singh Handana Halka Incharge Sanour attended as the chief guest.
At Block Samana, in the girls’ athletics game age group under-21 event 100 meters, Preeti Rani got first place, Sneha Kaur got second place and Khushi got third place. Similarly, in the under-17 event 100 meters, Paranavi Goyal and Harmeet Kaur got second place. In the under-17 event 100 meters for boys, Harjot Singh got first place, Samarveer Singh got second place and Harman Singh got third place. In the under-21 boys, Hardeep Singh got first place, Sanampreet Singh got second place and Harpreet Singh got third place. Similarly, in the age group 21-30 men, Maninder Singh got first place, Aryan Kumar Goyal got second place and Karanjot Singh got third place.
In tennis ball cricket at Block Sanaur, the team of Government Senior Secondary School Sanaur defeated the team of Sushila Devi School and the team of Bolar Kalan defeated the team of Gems Public School Sanaur to achieve a grand victory.
At Block Ghanaur, University College Team A achieved a brilliant victory by defeating University College Team B by 10 scores in tennis ball cricket. Similarly, P.M.Sri School Ghanaur was defeated by Government Senior Secondary School Chapar by 7 wickets.
At Block Bhunarheri, in the game Kho-Kho Under-17 boys, the team of Bhagwan Jatta School won first place and the team of B.S.Sandhu School won second place and achieved a great victory. Similarly, in the Under-14 boys, the team of B.S. Sandhu School won by defeating Presage School by 09 scores. In the Football game among Under-21 boys, Government Senior Secondary School Hadana won first place.
