Punjab News:S. Harbhajan Singh ETO took stock of road development works across Punjab

* Order by the Minister of Public Works to take into account the effects of weather while fixing project deadlines*

*PMGSY And orders to give special priority to projects of NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance*

Public Works Minister of Punjab Harbhajan Singh ETO While taking stock of the progress of road development works across Punjab during a meeting held at Punjab Bhavan today, he said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to provide better transport network to the people of the state.

Addressing the officials during the review of the works, the Cabinet Minister said that during the tendering process of the road/bridge construction projects in the state, appropriate time should be given for the construction of the project, in which the weather like rain/winter etc. should also be taken into account so that the works can be completed within the stipulated time.

He strictly instructed the officials that PMGSY in the state. And special priority should be given to timely completion of NABARD projects and timely payments to the contractors so that the financial targets of the department can be achieved. Instructions were given to ensure the installation of lane markings and other devices to improve road safety.

The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working on the construction and renovation of 45000 kilometers of roads in the state.

During the meeting, he also assessed the light and ward-wise status of the ongoing works related to highways and link roads under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department. He said that now the weather is perfect for look work and the progress of work should be accelerated.

The Cabinet Minister directed all the concerned officials that the pending demands regarding the funds should be recorded and paid immediately so that there is no delay in the progress of the works. The Public Works Minister said that he will review the progress of the works again soon.
