All the arrangements including preparations for the arrival of a large number of devotees during Assu Navratri and Durga Ashtami from October 11 to October 19 at the Mata Sri Kali Devi Temple in Patiala are going on on a war footing. To review these arrangements, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal held a high-level meeting with ADC Anuprita Johal and members of the Advisory Committee CA Ajay Alipuria, Sanjay Singla and Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements for langar and storage, drinking water, bathrooms, cleanliness, decoration etc. for the devotees, including arranging wheelchairs for the convenience of the general devotees and the differently-abled devotees who come to the temple to pay homage here during this festival. He said that all kinds of thorough arrangements will be made for the convenience of the devotees.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that the district police is making elaborate security arrangements for the arrival of a large number of devotees and a traffic plan is also being prepared to ensure smooth movement of traffic including parking of vehicles.
Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta, a member of the temple’s high-level advisory committee, said that the Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Shardiya Navratri Assu is starting from October 11 and during this, the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped according to the rituals, for which arrangements are being made on a large scale.
Member CA Ajay Alipuria said that this sacred, ancient and historical Mata Sri Kali Devi Temple has greatness and recognition all over the world, therefore, no deficiency will be left in the service of the devotees who arrive in large numbers on the occasion of the festival of Navratri.
During the meeting, Mr. Alipuria instructed the security personnel to perform their services with utmost humility and to greet every devotee with love inside and outside the temple and in the Mother’s house so that the crowd can be controlled properly.
Member Sanjay Singla said that during Navratri, the havan will start at 8.30 am every day, for which general devotees can make bookings. During this, chanting of mantras will continue to make the atmosphere of the temple more spiritual, due to which the devotees will get a very holy and spiritual atmosphere. Similarly, booking of langar can also be made.
During the meeting, DSP Sanjeev Singla, Additional Divisional Fire Brigade Officer Harinderpal Singh, Temple Assistant Supervisor Navneet Tandon along with a large number of officials from Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department and other departments were present.
