Patiala News:SDM Patiala holds meeting with baler owners before paddy harvest

As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, SDM Patiala Gurdev Singh Dhamma held a meeting with all the baler owners and officers/employees of the Agriculture Department of Tehsil Patiala to make proper arrangements for straw management in Tehsil Patiala and to reduce the incidents of fire. He appealed to all the farmers to harvest the paddy as per the time fixed by the District Administration and with Super SMS equipped combine harvester so that the fertility of the land can be increased by mixing the straw in the fields and the environment can be protected from pollution. He said that the farmers who want to make straw bales can now contact the Agriculture Department and Cooperative Department and give the details of the village regarding the demand for balers. During the meeting, SDM Patiala told the baler owners in Tehsil Patiala who have taken balers on subsidy from the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department that for the benefit of the farmers, they will operate their balers in Tehsil Patiala on priority basis and if any baler is found operating outside Tehsil Patiala or District Patiala, appropriate action will be taken against it and asked Agriculture Officer Patiala Dr. Gurmeet Singh and Agriculture Officer Bhunarheri and Sanaur Dr. Mandeep Singh to form teams at the block level to monitor these balers. During this meeting, officers and employees of the Agriculture Department Jashandeep Kaur, Jaspinder Kaur, Gagandeep Singh, Harman Singh, Balwinder Kaur, Neha Kathuria, Rajvir Singh and baler owners of Tehsil Patiala participated.
