Patiala News:Patiala Police arrested two accused in connection with the incident of rioting in Chitkara University

The Patiala Police have arrested two persons for inciting students by spreading false rumors through social media in connection with the incident of ruckus by students in Chitkara University, Rajpura on September 25-26 midnight.

Giving information about the case, a spokesperson of Patiala Police said that the arrested accused have been identified as Nangal, a resident of Himanshu and Aryan, a resident of Ambala.

After this incident, an FIR was registered in Banur police station and a large-scale investigation was initiated, taking strict action against the persons involved. The police said that during the investigation, false messages and social media activities spread by students and other mischievous elements through various social media platforms were also thoroughly investigated.

During the investigation, it was revealed that both the arrested accused incited and provoked the students by spreading misleading messages through various social media groups, due to which the situation in the university campus became tense.

In all, two accused have been arrested, while 10 other persons have been named in the FIR. Police teams have been sent to various places to arrest the remaining accused.

Further investigation is on to identify and ascertain the role of other persons involved in spreading misinformation, inciting students, damaging public property and obstructing government employees in the discharge of their official duties.

Police officials clarified that the Patiala Police is steadfast in its commitment to maintain peace and law and order.
