Said, Bhagwant Mann government is building critical care blocks in different districts of Punjab for better treatment facilities

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Critical Care Block being constructed at Rajindra Hospital of Government Medical College Patiala will be made operational for patients in the month of November. He said that Critical Care Blocks are also being set up in the remaining 22 districts of the state, so that better health facilities can be provided to the people.
Dr. Balbir Singh today handed over appointment letters to 80 Corona Warriors who were serving in Government Medical Colleges of Amritsar, Faridkot and Patiala during the Covid-19 pandemic at Government Medical College Patiala for recruitment as nursing staff. He said that out of these, 60 nursing staff will serve in the Critical Care Block of Rajindra Hospital and 20 will serve in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Mohali). He said that they will be given special training and the services of Corona Warriors and Covid volunteers will be taken in the Critical Care Blocks to be set up in the state.
The Health Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has so far provided government jobs to about 70 thousand youth in the state, out of which about 10 thousand recruitments have been made in the health department.
He said that it was the wish of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to recruit as nursing staff the Corona Warriors who served the people without caring for their lives during the Covid pandemic. They played a vital role in taking care of the patients and saving the lives of the people during the difficult period of the pandemic.
Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government is fulfilling its commitment to provide employment opportunities to these Corona Warriors, as their hard work and dedication cannot be forgotten. He also appealed to the Covid volunteers to find a solution to the issue through talks with the government and said that efforts will also be made to provide them employment opportunities.
The Health Minister said that the Punjab government is giving priority to health, education and employment. Along with renovating government hospitals, health facilities are being provided to the people through the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme, which is proving beneficial for the people of Punjab.
On this occasion, Dr. Balbir Singh congratulated the female and male nursing staff while handing over the appointment letters and motivated them to perform their duties with complete honesty, dedication and commitment. He said that the Punjab Government has given them an opportunity to move forward and prove their worth.
On this occasion, the newly appointed nursing staff thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and said that they struggled for a long time, but it was the Bhagwant Mann government that held their hand and they were handed over appointment letters.
On this occasion, Director, Medical Education and Research, Dr. Avnish Kumar, Dr. Bhagwant Singh, Director-Principal of Government Medical College Patiala Dr. R.P.S. Sibia, Director-Principal of AIIMS Mohali Dr. Navdeep Saini, Medical Superintendent Dr. Vishal Chopra, Dr. Kiran, Dr. Raja Paramjit Singh, Dr. Didar Singh Walia, Dr. Vinod Dangwal and other faculty members were present.
