Patiala News:Agriculture Department Nabha organizes awareness camp on non-burning of stubble at Government High School, Village Thuhi

As per the guidelines of Chief Agriculture Officer Patiala and under the leadership of Block Agriculture Officer Nabha, an awareness camp was organized by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department at Government High School, Village Thuhi for the cleanliness of the environment and proper disposal of paddy stubble. The main objective of this camp was to make the students and local farmers aware of the bad effects of burning stubble and its impact on the environment. At this time, speech, poetry, slogan and poster making competitions were also organized for the school students on the topic of proper management of stubble and the bad effects of burning. The students gave the message of environmental conservation through their speeches and posters and the winning students in these competitions were honored. The officials motivated the students to make the farmers in their homes and nearby areas aware not to burn stubble. During the camp, Dr. Jupinder Singh Gill, Block Agriculture Officer Nata, while addressing, said that burning stubble pollutes the environment, which increases respiratory diseases. Apart from this, friendly insects and fertility elements of the soil are destroyed. The experts of the department advised the farmers to use modern machinery (such as Happy Seeder, Super Seeder and Smart Seeder) for stubble management. At this time, at the end of the camp, the school staff thanked the team of the Agriculture Department and assured that the school will contribute fully in this campaign being run against stubble pollution. On this occasion, officials of the Agriculture Department, school staff, students and village dignitaries were present.
