Final publication of voter lists to be held on October 12, instructions to complete all necessary arrangements

Mr. Sumer Singh Gurjar, Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare Department, Punjab, who was appointed as Electoral Roll Observer for Patiala district by the Election Commission of India during the leave of Mr. Vinay Bublani, Divisional Commissioner, Patiala, today held a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anuprita Johal and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of all eight assembly constituencies of the district to review the progress of Special In-depth Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Election Tehsildar Vijay Kumar Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Mr. Gurjar reviewed the arrangements being made for the final publication of the voter lists. The officials informed him that as per the schedule set by the Election Commission of India, the final voter lists of Patiala district will be published on October 12, 2026 and necessary arrangements are being made for this.

On this occasion, Mr. Sumer Singh Gurjar emphasized on ensuring compliance with the schedule set for the final publication of voter lists and completing all the necessary arrangements on time. He said that no eligible voter, especially the young voter, should be deprived of the right to vote and neither should the name of any unauthorized person be included in the voter list. Therefore, strict compliance with the instructions of the Election Commission should be ensured.

The District Administration informed Mr. Gurjar that the process of downloading and sending the PDF files of the final voter lists of all eight assembly constituencies for printing is in progress. After the final publication, the representatives of the recognized political parties will be provided with complete sets of voter lists including photographs. Apart from this, arrangements have also been made to ensure the availability of voter lists at polling stations, ERO offices, District Election Officer’s office and on the website of the Chief Election Officer.

The meeting was also briefed about the arrangements for disposal of complaints received regarding voter lists, analysis of data and printing and distribution of EPIC cards of newly registered voters. The officials said that necessary action has been taken after investigating the complaints received and publication of the final voter lists will be ensured as per the stipulated schedule.
