The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will extend its support to youth groups protesting outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh on Saturday, in solidarity with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’s movement against ‘Vote-Chori’ (vote theft) and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Several AAP leaders, including Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, Punjab President Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Media In-charge Baltej Pannu and Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur, along with other ministers, MLAs and party karyakartas, will likely to join the protest by various youth groups seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

 

AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia stated, “Our vote belongs to us. It is not anyone’s personal property to be snatched away whenever they wish or stolen at will.”

 

Announcing his participation in the youth’s protest, he added, “I will also join the protest by young people outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh tomorrow in support of CJP. Everyone must come out onto the streets against those stealing votes. We will not tolerate the theft of the very vote that forms and changes governments.”

 

AAP Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora stated, “Our vote belongs to us. It is not anyone’s personal property to be taken away whenever they wish or stolen whenever they choose.”

 

Emphasising the importance of the protest, he added, “The protest being organised by youth l outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh tomorrow by CJP is important to protect the country and democracy. Everyone must take to the streets against those doing ‘Vote-Chori’. We will not tolerate the theft of the very vote that forms and changes governments.”

 

Senior AAP leader and Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasised, “Our vote is our right, and protecting this right is the responsibility of every Indian.”

 

Expressing his support for the protest, he stated, “In support of the protest being organised by CJP in Delhi tomorrow against the attacks on our voting rights by the BJP and the Election Commission of India, we will protest outside the Election Commission office in Chandigarh.”

 

Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr Baljit Kaur stated, “The vote is the foundation of our democracy, and no form of electoral manipulation can be tolerated. I, too, will raise my voice in Chandigarh tomorrow in support of CJP to protect the right to vote.”

 

AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu asserted, “Everyone must recognise their responsibility and take to the streets to remove the Election Commission that is doing ‘Vote-Chori’. I, too, will join tomorrow in support of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ so that democracy can be protected.”
