Patiala News:Awareness camp for ASHA workers on stubble management was organized in village Kauli.

To create awareness about proper management of paddy stubble and not to burn stubble, an awareness camp was organized by the Agriculture Department for ASHA workers at village Kauli. This camp was organized by Agriculture Development Officer (District-cum) Jaspinder Kaur under the guidance of Dr. Dara Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Patiala and Block Agriculture Officer, Gurmeet Singh Block Patiala. During the camp, ASHA workers were informed about the environmental pollution caused by burning paddy stubble, its adverse effects on soil fertility and harm to human health. They were motivated to take the message of awareness regarding stubble management to every household. The Agriculture Department appealed to the farmers to manage paddy stubble properly with the help of modern agricultural machinery instead of burning it. This can protect the environment as well as maintain the health of the soil.
Message from the Department of Agriculture: “Do not burn stubble, protect the environment from pollution.”
