Patiala News:Farmers were made aware about stubble management through street drama at village Sher Majra under CRM scheme.

Under the leadership of Mandeep Singh, Agriculture Officer of Block Bhunnarheri, Shri Jaspreet Singh Randhawa, Agriculture Development Officer, and Shri Jaspreet Singh Randhawa, a street play was organized at village Sher Majra to prevent burning of paddy stubble and to make farmers aware of its proper management under the proper management of crop residues (Shrum Scheme). On this occasion, Chandan Kumar, President of Madhuban Theatre Group, presented a street play titled “Jag Bandya Jag” to the farmers about the adverse effects of burning of stubble on the environment, soil fertility, human health and wildlife. The artists effectively explained to the farmers that instead of burning stubble, soil health can be improved by cultivating it in the field itself and the environment can be protected from pollution.
Farmers were motivated to use available agricultural machinery like Super Seeder, Happy Seeder, Smart Seeder and other agricultural tools for stubble management. Along with this, farmers were given a message to maintain the fertility of the soil by properly managing the crop residues instead of burning them. The officials of the Agriculture Department appealed to the farmers not to burn stubble and to make other farmers aware about this, so that a clean environment, healthy society and sustainable agriculture can be promoted. On this occasion, the staff of the Agriculture Department, Block Bhunnarheri, Shanti (ATM), Satvir Kaur, Gurdeep Singh and the farmers of the village were also present.
