World University Participated in Nagar Keertan on Last Day of the Shaheedi Sabha

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib paid homage to the supreme sacrifice made by the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji. On this occasion various events were organised which included Cancer care camp, physiotherapy and homeopathy camp, book exhibitions, turban tying camp and screening of documentary related to Sikhism, Beside this ‘Vand Chakko’ Camp was also organized which was a unique initiative taken by the University in association with the Sukrit Trust, Ludhiana.

On 27th December, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University, along with staff, and students participated in the Nagar Kirtan. The University authorities said that such camps and initiatives are the need of the hour as the Sikh youth are becoming Patit and have drawn into vices like drugs. The University has taken these steps to spread awareness among the youth. He added that the young generation needs to be connected to their rich culture, heritage and history through such events.

It is worth mentioning that with the help of World Cancer Care Charitable Trust, England, the University organised a free Cancer-care camp under the guidance of Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, in which the check-up of more than 1000 patients was done. Also, the information about the prevention and cure of the deadly disease of cancer was provided to the patients free of cost. In the physiotherapy and homeopathy camps, over 1100 patients were also treated free of cost. Over 500 students participated in turban tying training camps. During the Nagar Kirtan, the Gatka team of the University, teachers and students presented mesmerized performance.
