Desh Bhagat University Hosts CME on World Physiotherapy Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, September 29: Desh Bhagat University’s Department of Physiotherapy, Mandi Gobindgarh, hosted a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program to celebrate World Physiotherapy Day at Mahapragya Hall. The CME had the theme “Learn, Heal and Empower: Physiotherapy in Spinal Cord Injury Care. The programme commenced with a warm welcome of the dignitaries by Dr. Divya Midha, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy.

The event was honored with the illustrious presence of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur as Chief Guests and Dr Harsh Sadawarti Vice Chancellor as guest of honor. Distinguished experts Dr. Priyanka Dangi and Dr. Sharanjeet Kaur (Punjabi University Patiala) were the Resource Persons and presented on the crucial role of physiotherapy in spinal cord injury management.

This CME seeks to emphasize the importance of physiotherapy in improving the quality of life among persons with spinal cord injuries. It will also serve as a forum for students, educators, and healthcare practitioners to share useful discussions, exchange information, and learn about advancements in physiotherapy interventions.

With such endeavors, Desh Bhagat University is further strengthening its resolve to promote medical education, research, and community sensitization, and empower healthcare professionals to serve society with excellence. On this occasion, the winners of the Rangoli and poster-making competitions were awarded by the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur.
