Patiala News:Agriculture Department Patiala organizes 6 block level camps under Atma Scheme
Under the guidance of Director Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Dr. Gurjit Singh Brar and under the leadership of Joint Director Agriculture (V.S.)—cum—State Nodal Officer, Punjab Dr. Karanjit Singh Gill, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Dara Singh, in collaboration with various Block Agriculture Officers Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Dr. Jupinder Singh Gill, Dr. Ranjodh Singh, Dr. Jupinder Singh Pannu, Dr. Satish Kumar and Dr. Mandeep Singh, farmers were made aware about Kharif crops and stubble management through block level camps. In these camps, farmers were made aware about harvesting paddy with Super SMS machine, making bales with baler, mixing stubble in the fields and harvesting paddy as per the time fixed by the district administration. In these camps, farmers were given technical information by the ADO, AEO, ASI, BTM and ATM of the Agriculture Department regarding timely and proper use of pure medicines recommended by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana for the prevention of diseases like Turmeric disease, Blast, Sheath blight, Leaf curl, Stem blight and Oilworm attack on paddy crop and for the prevention of insects and diseases on sugarcane crop. The team of the Agriculture Department shared information about the subsidy, verification and maintenance of machinery available to farmers. Awareness camps were organized at village Raipur Mandla from Block Patiala, village Mallewal from Block Nabha, village Pasiana from Block Bhunarheri and Sanaur, Dharamshala Samana from Block Samana and Patran, village Jarikpur from Block Ghanaur and village Bhedwal from Block Rajpura. Around 600 farmers, including village Sarpanchs, Numberdars and progressive farmers, participated in these camps. Staff of the Agriculture Department Kirpal Singh Mahant, Amandeep Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, Gagandeep Singh, Anurag Attri, Gurdhyan Singh, Vijay Kumar, Rashpinder Singh, Sikander Singh, Jaspreet Singh Dhillon, Ravinderpal Singh Chatha, Prabhdeep Singh, Manpreet Singh, Neha Kathuria, Vishali Rani, Navjot Kaur, Surinder Kumar, Gurvinder Singh, Harpal Singh and other staff participated in these camps.
