Patiala News:Roll observer Vinay Bublani went door to door to verify new voters

As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the Roll Observer appointed by the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab for District Patiala to inspect the process of correction of voter lists under SIR-2026 being carried out in the state of Punjab, Mr. Vinay Bublani, IAS, Commissioner, Patiala Division, Patiala, today conducted a detailed review of the entire voter list correction process during his visit to Assembly Constituency 110-Patiala Rural.
Roll Observer Patiala Mr. Vinay Bublani has been appointed as the constituency observer.
110-Patiala Rural, went to the houses of new voters of Booth No. 102 (Prem Nagar) and personally verified the voters and while interacting with the voters, the work of the Booth Level Officer was appreciated. He also visited Nabha Assembly Constituency and reviewed the process of revision of voter lists under SIR-2026.
Apart from this, he also held a meeting with the Electoral Registration Officer, political parties, supervisor officers and election staff of Vidhan Sabha constituency 110-Patiala Rural.
Voter Registration Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) 110-Patiala Rural, Mrs. Navreet Kaur Sekhon, welcomed the roll observer and informed about the action taken so far under SIR-2026 in constituency 110-Patiala Rural.
Shri Vinay Bublani said that the entire process is being carried out in a transparent and fair manner as per the time frame and guidelines set by the Election Commission. While reviewing the progress of notice stage, claims and objections received, their disposal and verification of voter lists, he said that the main objective of SIR-2026 is to prepare clean, correct and error-free voter lists. While observing the counting of new votes being made in various polling booths in Constituency 110-Patiala Rural by the Roll Observer, he instructed the Supervisor Officers and Election Staff to ensure that the name of every eligible voter is included in the voter list and the name of no ineligible person is included and while talking to the Supervisor Officers, it was said that documents should be obtained from the voters only as per the list of documents issued by the Election Commission of India.
He said that the claims and objections will be resolved by October 8, 2026, while the final voter list will be published on October 12, 2026. For information regarding voter services or SIR-2026, apart from the helpdesk, the voter helpline number 1950 can also be contacted.

Mr. Gurdeep Singh Tiwana, Mr. Harmandeep Singh and Mr. Ajaypal Singh (Master Trainer), Mr. Simardeep Singh, Election Clerk and Supervisor of Patiala Rural Constituency and election staff were also present.
