Patiala News:Language Department Punjab organizes Kahani Darbar on the occasion of ‘Hindi Day’
Prominent writers read stories and a discussion was held on the art of storytelling.
The Language Department Punjab organized an impressive function on the occasion of Hindi Diwas at Bhasha Bhawan here today. During which eminent storytellers recited stories and experts presented their views on the art of storytelling. During this function, Additional Director Chandandeep Kaur, in her welcome speech, highlighted the Hindi related activities of the department.
The event was started by renowned story writer Dr. Dharampal Sahil with his story ‘Pind Daan’. During which he talked about social concerns and explained family complications in a very simple and concise manner. Character creation and the Gundwa plot became the peak of Dr. Sahil’s story. After this, Dr. Meenakshi Verma recited the story ‘Gau-Dhli’. Through this story, she talked about the mutual relationship between husband and wife. Through which it emerged that even in the face of a crisis like death, a good relationship between husband and wife can secure the future of their children by taking good decisions. Overall, this story expressed the turmoil of a woman’s inner mind.
During the presidential address, Prof. Rakesh Kumar said that although there are borders between countries around the world, but writers are trying to break the restrictions of these borders and take the world into one fold through their works and are also succeeding. About the art of storytelling, he said that the tradition of Hindi storytelling is as old as human civilization. Stories have an organic relationship with us. They keep moving around us like the wind. Which writers immortalize by putting them on paper. He said that the fluency is disappearing from our stories. Which is the basic element of the story. He said that the composition of the story should be like a river of words. Which should carry the reader along, that is, connect him with new emotions. He said that the Department of Languages is breaking many traditions and breaking new ground. It is organizing very quality events related to all genres of literature, due to which the scope of the department is expanding.
Chief guest Naveen Kamal Bharti said that there is no conflict between languages. They are connected to each other and complement each other. He said that the Vedas were composed on the land of Punjab. From which many languages of India have emerged. So we should respect all languages. He also refreshed the memories related to his language department. The stage was conducted by the moderator and assistant director Devinder Kaur. On this occasion, retired assistant director of the Hindi section of the department Mrs. Mohini Chawla was specially honored. Finally, the director of languages S. Jaswant Singh Zafar honored the storytellers and guests with departmental shawls and books on behalf of the department. On this occasion, Deputy Director Alok Chawla, Assistant Director Surinder Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, Rabia, former director of PSPL S. D.P. Singh Grewal, Harjit Singh Sohi, Eng. Jatinder Singh, former assistant directors of the department Babu Ram Diwan and Harnek Singh Dhot, journalists Gurnam Singh Aqida, poet Bhim Singh and his friends and a large number of literature lovers were present.
