Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP ) Punjab leader and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ) government at the Centre, alleging that the ED was blatantly misusing central agencies like the CBI to intimidate and target elected governments .

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the country’s history has never seen a period when central agencies are being used to this extent against political opponents. The BJP, having failed to win political battles with the people’s votes , seeks to seize power by creating an atmosphere of fear , splitting opposition parties, and pressuring leaders.

Referring to the recent ED operation in Punjab, Dhaliwal clarified that its true purpose is to intimidate AAP leaders and administrative officials and to defame the Punjab government. He said that this is not just an ED raid on the Aam Aadmi Party government, but rather a ” Delhi attack on Punjab .” Punjab’s history bears witness that whenever any outside force has attempted to suppress or subjugate Punjab , Punjabis have always resisted it boldly.

Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that the BJP has employed this same formula in Maharashtra , Delhi , Bihar , West Bengal, and other parts of the country, using agencies to destabilize opposition governments. Now, the same tactic is being replicated in Punjab. But the BJP is forgetting that neither the Aam Aadmi Party leaders nor the people of Punjab are afraid.

Taking aim at the BJP ‘s recent ” Drug-Free Punjab Yatra, ” Dhaliwal said that the people of Punjab’s rejection of the Yatra has deflated the BJP’s claims. He questioned why the BJP, which is staging a drug-free drama in Punjab, doesn’t pay attention to Gujarat , where drugs worth thousands of crores of rupees are being seized every day ? If the BJP is truly serious about eradicating drug abuse , it should take this Yatra to Gujarat.

The AAP MLA reminded that the Bhagwant Mann government is continuously implementing historic public welfare schemes in Punjab , which is why the party has garnered public support. He said that senior leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh were jailed by central agencies on false charges , but not a single party soldier surrendered or sold out.

Taking aim at the BJP ‘s political position, Dhaliwal said that the people of Punjab have reduced the BJP to just two seats in the 2022 assembly elections. BJP leaders should dispel the misconception that they can find political ground in Punjab with the help of agencies.

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party will continue its political and legal fight against this central government’s high-handedness. Without fear of the ED or any other agency, Punjab’s rights will be upheld, and the wise people of Punjab will give a befitting reply to this BJP arrogance in a democratic manner.
