Patiala News:HIV Awareness workshop organized on prevention of mother-to-child transmission of syphilis

HIV An awareness and capacity building workshop was organized for the medical and paramedical staff of Patiala with the objective of eliminating vertical transmission of syphilis ( EVTHS) . Medical officers , staff nurses , ANMs and other health workers participated in this workshop. This workshop was organized by Civil Surgeon Patiala. Dr. Shelly Jaitley was held under the chairmanship of , while Dr. Vikas Goyal Medical Superintendent ( Mata Kaushalya Hospital) and District Nodal Officer Dr. Gurpreet Singh Nagra Be especially present.

Technical session during the workshop Professor Dr. Satinderpal Kaur Department of Gynecology Government Medical College Patiala Taken by them. They are HIV positive. And detailed information was provided on the clinical and programmatic aspects necessary to prevent mother-to-child transmission of syphilis. Under the EVTHS program in the workshop HIV Prevention of unwanted pregnancy in women living with HIV , HIV in pregnant women and timely screening and testing for syphilis , appropriate management of positive pregnant women , early screening of children and appropriate management of children exposed to HIV/Syphilis were discussed.

Apart from this, information was also given to the health workers about the availability of essential commodities , strengthening the supply chain , recording and reporting of EVTHS related activities , counseling of pregnant women and regular follow-up. HIV during the workshop and to prevent the spread of syphilis from mother to child Special emphasis was placed on effective counseling , timely diagnosis , appropriate treatment and management , early diagnosis of children and regular follow-up . On this occasion SMO Dr. Jaideep Singh and Dr. Shabdeep Kaur , Yadwinder Singh Virk , Nitin Chandla, Rajni , ICTC and DSRC staff were also present.
