Patiala News:Experience Gained Through Working as Interns with Administration Will Prove to Be a Milestone in Students’ Careers: Dr Himanshu Aggarwal

The first three-month “Public Policy Internship Programme-2026”, initiated by the Patiala District Administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, has concluded successfully. While presenting Internship Completion Certificates to the selected interns and cash prizes to the best-performing groups, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that the administrative experience gained by these students would prove to be a milestone in their careers. OSD Urban Development Mukilan R was also present on the occasion.

Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said that the primary objective of the programme was to familiarise young people with administrative functioning, the process of government policy formulation and the experience of public service at the grassroots level. During the programme, 49 selected interns worked efficiently across 17 different administrative departments. Following final presentations based on the project reports prepared by the interns, the best three interns/groups were selected and honoured with cash prizes totalling Rs 31,000, sponsored by the Red Cross Society, Patiala.

The Deputy Commissioner congratulated all the interns and extended his best wishes for their bright future. He expressed hope that they would utilise the knowledge and experience gained during the programme for the betterment of society.

The Deputy Commissioner also specially appreciated the team of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE), Patiala—Deputy Director Ravinder Pal Singh, Deputy CEO Satinder Singh and Career Counsellor Dr Roopsi Pahuja—for successfully conducting the programme over the three-month period and maintaining effective coordination throughout.
