Village level awareness camp on stubble management was organized at village Birarwal, circle Agol.
As part of the efforts being made by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Punjab to sensitize farmers about proper management of paddy stubble, a village level awareness camp was organized at village Birarwal under Circle Agol of Block Nabha. This camp was organized under the guidelines of Dr. Dara Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Patiala and under the leadership of Block Agriculture Officer Mr. Japinder Gill.
During the camp, BTM Mr. Surinder Singh and BTM Mrs. Navjot Kaur informed the farmers about various methods of proper management of paddy stubble. They told the farmers that burning of stubble pollutes the environment, damages the beneficial microorganisms of the soil and also has a negative impact on the fertility of the land.
He appealed to the farmers to manage the stubble properly by using agricultural machinery instead of burning it. This will not only help in keeping the environment clean, but will also improve soil health and ensure conservation of natural resources.
On this occasion, farmers of village Birarwal participated in the camp and received information about stubble management from the officials of the Agriculture Department. The department appealed to the farmers not to burn stubble and to contribute to the conservation of the environment by making other farmers aware.
