Industry-Oriented Workshop Enhances Pharma Career Readiness at Desh Bhagat University

Mandi Gobindgarh, January 20: The Placebo Club, School of Pharmacy, Sardar Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy and Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Desh Bhagat University, and Pharminox Pvt. Ltd., Baddi (Solan, Himachal Pradesh), successfully organized an Industry-Oriented Workshop.

The program aimed to provide pharmacy students with practical exposure and a realistic understanding of pharmaceutical industry operations, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

The workshop featured two technical sessions. The morning session, “Roadmap to the Pharmaceutical Industry – From Classroom to Shop Floor,” focused on industry expectations, skill gaps, career pathways, and professional discipline. The afternoon session, “Roles & Responsibilities in the Pharma Industry- Who Does What and Why Coordination Decides Quality,” offered insights into key departments such as QA, QC, Production, RA, IPQA, and Warehouse, emphasizing interdepartmental coordination and quality compliance.

Resource persons Mr. Vipin Sharma and Ms. Pooja Sharma shared valuable industry insights, real-life case studies and practical experiences, making the sessions interactive and impactful. Students gained clarity on career readiness, real-world operations, and quality systems.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Puja Gulati, Principal, who appreciated the collaborative efforts and encouraged students to apply the learnings for their professional growth.
