Patiala News:SDM Patiala holds meeting with Sarpanches and Numberdars regarding stubble management

As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, SDM Patiala Gurdev Singh Dhamma held a meeting with the Sarpanches and Numbardars of Patiala district regarding stubble management. He appealed to the Sarpanches and Numbardars present in the meeting to make the farmers in their villages aware about reducing the incidents of stubble fires and said that Red Entry, FIR and appropriate fine will be imposed against those farmers who are setting stubble fires in the fields. In this regard, he said that the farmers should harvest paddy with a combine fitted with Super SMS and increase the fertility of the soil by mixing the stubble in the fields. SDM Patiala said that cluster officers have been appointed for each village for the nodal officers who are continuously monitoring the incidents of fires in the fields in the villages. He encouraged farmers to use the CRM machinery provided on subsidy by the Agriculture Department to plough the stubble in the fields and bale it to industrial units and said that farmers can contact the agriculture and cooperative societies and demand the machines so that the incidents of stubble fire can be reduced and the environment can be protected from pollution.
