DBU Chancellor Dr Zora Singh honoured with Sapt Sindhu Shiromani Award

Organized by Nivedita Trust,s Sapt Sindhu Forum, the Lit Fest aimed to introduce the youth to the Vedas and Shri Guru Granth Sahib, among others, and bring the world’s first book, first grammar, first city, first university, science-medicine-arts-spirituality-architecture-education-justice system-democracy to the younger generation. The Sapt Sindhu Lit Fest provided an opportunity for youth to connect with their roots, knowledge, nature and culture amidst the rapidly changing context of the Sindhu civilization in today’s era. The inauguration of the Sapt Sindhu Lit Fest-24, a literary festival, commenced on Friday & will continue on 27th, 28th, and 29th February in the presence of dignitaries such as the Vice President of India, Raj Babbar, Jaspinder Narula, and Jasbir Jassi among others.

On this occasion, the personalities who performed successfully in their respective fields in the society were honored. Among them, the chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh, was honored with the Sapt Sindhu Shiromani Award by Nivedatta Trust, a prestigious organization of Tricity, for his contribution in social service, education and medical field. On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh thanked the members of Nivedatta Trust and said that it is a matter of pride that Sapat Sindhu Sahitya Mela-24 was organized with the support of Punjab University. Meanwhile, a serious discussion took place on an important issue “Sapat Sindhu: Public Administration, Urban Development and Interdisciplinary Perspective”.

 

The first session of the Lit Fest, organized by Nivedita Trust’s Sapt Sindhu Forum, was addressed by Chief Guest Justice Adarsh Kumar Goyal of the Supreme Court and chaired by Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi retired IAS. Rajendra Gupta, Chairman of Trident Group, was the Guest of Honor, and Shourya Doval, Founder of India Foundation (Online), and Sarvesh Kaushal, retired Chief Secretary of Punjab, spoke too..

In the first session, Justice Goel encouraged today’s youth to embrace the heritage, culture, and ideals of characters from Ramayana and Mahabharata to become global leaders. In the second session, Santosh Taneja, Justice K.C. Puri, and Lieutenant General J.S. Singh were the main guests, and Dr. Dharampal, Dr. Renu Thakur, and historian Dr. Amarjit Grewal were speakers.

General K.J Singh shared insights into India’s golden era, highlighting the Vedas being composed in Punjab and emphasized on India’s culture, study, and heritage, to become world leaders.

In the third session, P.C. Dogra, retired IPS, and Dr. Manmohan Singh, retired IPS, were the Guests of Honor, and Ashwini Sekhri and Dr. Amarjit Grewal were present as speakers. The presence of Dr. Mohan Tyagi, Dr. Harinder Singh, Dr. Praveen Kumar, and Dr. Lipika was notable.

Meenakshi Agnihotri, organizer of Sapat Sindhu Lit Fest, said that in Sapt Sindhu Lit Fest, the youth got an opportunity to connect with their roots and learn about their ancestors, nature and culture.
