Desh Bhagat University Engages in Alberta (Canada) – India Diplomatic State Visit
Mandi Gobindgarh, February 9: Desh Bhagat University (DBU) marked its presence at the Alberta (Canada) – India Diplomatic State Visit 2026 held in Chandigarh, reaffirming its commitment to global academic collaboration and international engagement.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, participated in the high-level Executive Meeting and Strategic Dialogue, where they interacted with Hon. Rajan Sawhney, Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism, Government of Alberta, Canada.
During the interaction, the university leadership formally presented an official collaboration note from DBU to Ms Sawhney. The document outlined DBU’s vision, academic strengths, and proposed areas of cooperation between India and Alberta across key strategic pillars, including Education and Academic Innovation, Research and Knowledge Creation, Technology and Emerging Domains, Energy and Hydrogen, Agri-Tech, and Skill Development.
The submission highlighted DBU’s readiness to engage in joint academic programs, collaborative research initiatives, student and faculty mobility, industry-linked skill development, and innovation-driven partnerships. These proposed collaborations are aligned with global best practices and are aimed at preparing a future-ready workforce while strengthening academic and industry ties between India and Alberta.
