Patiala News:Special camps to be held on October 24 for verification and revision of voter lists
Voters will be able to get voter list related work done by reaching their polling booth, they can also contact the helpline number 1950.
As per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, special camps will be organized at all the polling booths of the district from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on 24th October 2026 for the convenience of the voters. During these camps, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling booths and will provide necessary information and assistance to the voters regarding the voter lists.
Giving information in this regard, it was informed that help desks have been set up at the District Election Office at the district level and the office of the Electoral Registration Officer at the assembly constituency level for the convenience of voters and the general public from 19 October 2026. One can check one’s name and other details in the final published SIR-2026 voter list by visiting these help desks or by calling the voter helpline number 1950.
He said that if the name of an eligible person is missing from the final voter list, then he can fill Form No. 6 to get his vote cast. Similarly, if there is any mistake in the details entered in the voter list or the voter shifts his residence from one area to another, then he can fill Form No. 8 as per the requirement.
The forms filled by the voters and the required documents can be submitted to the BLO of the concerned polling booth. Apart from this, these forms can also be filled and submitted online. For this, the official web portal of the Election Commission of India voter.eci.gov.in or ECI Net mobile app can be used.
The Election Office appealed to the voters to check their names and details in the voter list and, if necessary, take advantage of the special camps being organized on October 24, so that the necessary amendments in the voter list and the process of creating a new vote can be completed on time.
