Manish Sisodia calls on youth to follow the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji and end social and economic inequality

Ludhiana, May 18:

As part of the series of events announced by the Punjab Government to celebrate the 650th Parkash Purb of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji on a grand scale, a special seminar dedicated to the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji was organized at CT University on Monday.

Addressing the seminar, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who was the chief guest at the event, called upon the youth to take the lead in eliminating social and economic inequalities from the society by following the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, a proponent of equality, universal brotherhood and social justice. He further said that discrimination and inequality persist in many areas including education and economy.

Highlighting economic inequality, Manish Sisodia said that India has a population of 1.4 billion and about 40 percent of the country’s wealth is concentrated in the hands of just 1.5 crore people, while 50 percent of the population owns only 6 percent of the country’s assets. He further said that the country’s education system is “completely rotten” and stressed the need for comprehensive reforms to make the nation ready for the future of the youth.

Appealing to the youth to rise up against inequality and discrimination, Sisodia said that the younger generation should work towards creating an egalitarian society free from all forms of discrimination as envisioned by Shri Guru Ravidass Ji, which is free from social division and injustice. He further said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is organizing such events throughout the year to celebrate the 650th Parkash Purb of Shri Guru Ravidass Ji to propagate the message and philosophy of the Guru Sahib. He also highlighted the Punjab government’s focus on strengthening the education and healthcare sectors to ensure quality services for every Punjabi. On this occasion, he also launched a missed-call campaign (9090029090) for the youth.

Similarly, Advisor Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab Deepak Bali also addressed the gathering and informed that these events are being organized with the aim of connecting the youth with the life, teachings and philosophy of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said that the Punjab Government is committed to building an inclusive society as per the ideals of Guru Sahib. He further said that such seminars and discussions will help in answering the questions arising in the minds of young students about economic inequality, discrimination and social injustice.

Sant Kewal Singh from Sri Khuralgarh Sahib was also present on the occasion and appealed to the younger generation to follow the teachings of Guru Ji. He stressed that we all should adopt the principles of equality and equal opportunity as enunciated by Shri Guru Ravidas Ji 650 years ago in our practical lives.

As part of the celebrations announced by the Punjab government to celebrate the 650th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas ji on a grand scale, a special seminar on the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas ji was organized at CT University on Monday.

Addressing the seminar, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who attended the function as the chief guest, invited the youth to lead the society in eradicating social and economic inequality by following the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, the advocate of equality, universal brotherhood and social justice. He further said that discrimination and inequality still continues in many areas including education and economy.

Highlighting the economic inequality, Manish Sisodia said that India’s population is 140 crore and about 40 percent of the country’s wealth is in the hands of only 1.5 crore people, while 50 percent of the population has only 6 percent of the country’s wealth. He further said that the country’s education system is “totally bad” and stressed the need for major reforms to prepare the country for the future of the youth.

Appealing to the youth to raise their voice against inequality and discrimination, Sisodia said that the youth should work towards creating an equal society free from all forms of discrimination, free from social divisions and injustice, as per the dream of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. He further said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is conducting such ceremonies throughout the year to celebrate the 650th Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji to propagate the message and vision of Guru Sahib. He also emphasized the Punjab government’s focus on strengthening the education and healthcare sectors to ensure good service to every Punjabi. Similarly, Deepak Bali, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs of Punjab also addressed the people and told that these functions are being organized with the aim of connecting the youth with the life, teachings and philosophy of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said that the Punjab government is committed to create a society based on the ideals of Guru Sahib. He further said that such seminars and discussions will help answer the questions raised in the minds of young students about economic inequality, discrimination and social injustice.

Saint Kewal Singh from Shree Khuralgarh Sahib was also present on this occasion and he appealed to the young generation to follow Guru Ji’s teachings. He emphasized that all of us should adopt the principles of equality and equal opportunities explained by Shri Guru Ravidas Ji in our real life 650 years ago.
