Patiala News:Baltej Singh Pannu, Chairman Juneja and MD Rana shared their grief with the heirs of the deceased PRTC conductor and handed over a cheque of Rs. 65.50 lakhs.

At the head office of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation, Patiala today, Aam Aadmi Party State General Secretary and Media Incharge Baltej Singh Pannu, PRTC Chairman Harpal Juneja and MD Manisha Rana shared their grief with the family of deceased conductor Satpal Singh of PRTC Patiala Depot and handed over a cheque of Rs 65.50 lakh to his heirs.

On this occasion, S. Baltej Singh Pannu said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government and its institutions are fully committed to the welfare and financial crises of its employees and their families in view of accidents occurring during duty. Accordingly, PRTC has taken this step and understanding the grief of the families of its employees, financial assistance of Rs. 65.50 lakhs has been provided to the heirs of the conductor and all the employees of PRTC are covered under this scheme.

Chairman Advocate Harpal Juneja said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and as per the directions of Transport Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, PRTC is taking important steps to provide financial assistance to the heirs of its employees and their families for the betterment of their employees and their families in case of death in an accident. Advocate Harpal Juneja further said that PRTC. Satpal Singh Conductor working in Patiala Depot died in a road accident in the year 2025, because PRTC employees are a part of his family, so in the future, if the conductor’s family needs any kind of assistance, he will always stand by them. He said that the family of the deceased Satpal Singh will be provided financial assistance by PRTC. Under the agreement signed between Punjab and Sind Bank, a compensation of Rs 65.50 lakh has been provided as per the corporate insurance terms, which is aimed at providing financial assistance to the family in this hour of grief.

MD PRTC Manisha Rana said that apart from Rs 40 lakh insurance amount to the heirs of the deceased conductor and Rs 18 lakh financial assistance for the education of their children, the heirs are also being provided with monthly pension from ESI/EPF. She also said that PRTC stands with its employees in every time of happiness and sorrow.

On this occasion, PRTC AMD Navdeep Kumar, GM Patiala Depot Jatinderpal Singh Grewal, DCFA Rajesh Kumar, GM Maninderpal Singh Sidhu and Amanvir Singh Tiwana, besides Punjab and Sindh Bank senior officers Upasna Dhar (RM), Sukhwinderjit Singh (DRM) and besides representatives of various unions and PRTC employees were present.
