Patiala News:Review of arrangements for paddy procurement under the leadership of SDM Harjot Kaur Mavi, meeting with farmers and arhtiyas

Regarding the procurement of paddy at the new grain market of Doodhansadhan and Devigarh Mandi under the Market Committee, SDM Harjot Kaur held a meeting with various officials and instructed that farmers and arhtiyas should not face any problem during the procurement of paddy. On this occasion, Chairman Market Committee Baldev Singh, District Mandi Officer, Aslam Mohammad, Agriculture Officer Block Bhunnarheri Mandeep Singh and Vimalpreet Singh Joshan, District Food and Supply Officer Varinderpal Kaur along with Secretary Market Committee Ashok Kumar Jindal were also present.

During a detailed meeting at the Office Market Committee Dudhnasadhan, the difficulties faced by farmers and arhtiyas were discussed. Farmers said that the yield of Parmal cumin has been very good this year compared to previous years and the crop has not been affected by any disease. Apart from this, many farmers have sown Parmal paddy instead of Basmati and apart from this, this year there are many farmers who are selling their crop under Parmal paddy after getting new mapping done. Due to these reasons, this time there is a bumper arrival of Parmal paddy in the market. Therefore, the arrival of paddy in Mandi Dudhnasadhan and Devigarh will increase significantly compared to previous years, therefore the targets of paddy procurement in Mandi Dudhnasadhan and Devigarh should be increased.

During the meeting, all the officers assured to resolve the problems of the farmers and traders soon, to which the farmers and traders agreed. SDM Harjot Kaur Mavi started the stalled procurement of paddy at Dudhnasadhan Mandi and it was said that the farmers and arhtiyas will not be allowed to face any problem in selling their crop. Apart from this, the officers visited the Grain Market Dudhnasadhan and Devigarh Mandis, where the farmers and arhtiyas expressed their satisfaction regarding the procurement arrangements made by the Market Committee in the Mandis. On this occasion, Accountant Market Committee Sahil Jindal, Mandi Supervisor Navtej Singh, Inspector Pangrain Gurpreet Singh, Karamjit Singh Saini, Narinder Singh Lehlan, Jaspal Singh Groli, Dharampal Sharma, Jeet Singh Miranpur, Bhupinder Singh Judge, President Aarhti Association Dudhnasadhan, Ved Prakash, President Kisan Union and many farmers and arhtiyas were present.
