Patiala News:Awareness activity on stubble management conducted at Government High School Mandoli

The Department of Agriculture made students aware of not burning stubble and preserving the environment.
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare organized an awareness camp on the ill effects of burning stubble residue at Government High School Mandoli under the leadership of Agriculture Officer Dr. Ranjodh Singh Bains. On this occasion, Agriculture Development Officer Dr. Anurag Attri gave detailed information to the students about the ill effects of burning stubble on the environment, human health, soil fertility and beneficial organisms for agriculture.
Dr. Anurag Attri, while addressing the students, said that burning of stubble increases air pollution, which can lead to various health problems including respiratory diseases. Apart from this, burning destroys beneficial microorganisms and friendly insects present in the soil and also affects the fertility of the soil.
He motivated the students to adopt the message of not burning stubble themselves and to make their parents, relatives and surrounding farmers aware about proper management of stubble. He said that instead of burning stubble, it should be managed in the fields with the help of agricultural machinery, so that along with protecting the environment, the health of the soil can also be maintained.
On this occasion, Agriculture Sub-Inspector of Agriculture Department Mr. Baljinder Singh was also present. Headmistress of the school Mrs. Harminder Kaur and teachers Mr. Jagdeep Singh, Mr. Amit Sharma, Mrs. Gaganjot Kaur, Mr. Albert, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur and other staff members supported this awareness activity.
