Patiala boy arrested for hurting religious sentiments on Facebook

SSP Patiala Mr Mandeep singh sidhu Informed that a person namely Abhishek Sehgal S/o Rajesh Sehgal R/O PS Kotwali Patiala (Age 26) who Works at Smart chip company, DTO office, Bassi Pathana Distt fatehgarh saab has posted posts in vulgar language on Facebook and has used very objectionable language against various deities worshipped in the hindu religion .
The accused also has violated the curfew which is in place and has also spread rumours regarding hindu religion.
SSP further said that in this regard *FIR No 99 dated 28/04/2020 U/s 188, 295A,505C IPC, Section 54 The disaster management act 2005 PS Kotwali Patiala* is registered against the above person.
He is arrested in this case and the mobile phone of accused is recovered.
Further investigation is going on.
Earlier also one such case has been registered in PS Tripuri Patiala on 8th april when the accused had used vulgar language and posted objectionable posts regarding Islam religion.
Patiala Police stands by the fact that no Post which is objectionable to any religion and which may lead to communal flare up will be tolerated.
Patiala Police advises all social media users of Patiala district to not post anything which hurts religious sentiments of any religion as well as not to spread any rumour regarding corona crisis as our CYBER CELL , SOCIAL MEDIA CELL and CIA units are keeping a sharp eye on every activity on social media.
Strict legal action will be taken in such cases.

ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਫੇਸਬੁਕ ਉਪਰ ਅਭੱਦਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਰਤਣ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬਹੁਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ਯੋਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਰਤਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ 26 ਸਾਲਾ, ਅਭਿਸ਼ੇਕ ਸਹਿਗਲ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਜੇਸ਼ ਸਹਿਗਲ ਵਾਸੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਕੋਤਵਾਲੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜੋਕਿ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਚਿਪ ਕੰਪਨੀ, ਡੀ.ਟੀ.ਓ. ਦਫ਼ਤਰ, ਬਸੀ ਪਠਾਣਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਫ਼ਤਹਿਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਭਿਸ਼ੇਕ ਸਹਿਗਲ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁਧ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਾਂ ਵੀ ਫੈਲਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੋੋਰੋਨਾ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈੇ। ਸ. ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀਂ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ 188, 295ਏ, 505 ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਸਟਰ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਐਕਟ 2005 ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 54 ਤਹਿਤ ਥਾਣਾ ਕੋਤਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਨੰਬਰ 99 ਮਿਤੀ 28 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2020 ਨੂੰ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੋਬਾਇਲ ਫੋਨ ਵੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਤਫ਼ਤੀਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸ. ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਸ 8 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਣਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪੜੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੀ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ‘ਚ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸਲਾਮ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇਤਰਾਜਯੋਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਰਤਦਿਆਂ ਅਭੱਦਰ ਟਿਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਜਾਂ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਉਪਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਟਿੱਪਣੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾੜਾ ਪਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ‘ਚ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਸ. ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਵਰਤਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਸ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਾਂ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਇਬਰ ਸੈਲ, ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਸੈਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੀ.ਆਈ.ਏ. ਯੂਨਿਟ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਉਪਰ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੋਝੀ ਹਰਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
