Patiala News:Tejinder Mehta Inaugurates Open Gym

Long-pending demand fulfilled at Baradari Bagh through efforts of MC Jaggi

Patiala: A new open gym was inaugurated at the Children’s Park in Baradari Bagh by District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta.

The demand for setting up an open gym at Baradari Bagh had been pending for a long time and was raised by the city’s prominent social welfare organisation, Janhit Samiti. The demand has now been fulfilled through the efforts of MC Kawaljit Kaur Jaggi. The open gym has been set up with funds made available by Chairman Tejinder Mehta through the District Planning Committee.

On the occasion, Tejinder Mehta said that providing better public facilities to the people is his priority. He said that public welfare and development works are being given priority in Punjab in line with the vision of party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Development works are also being carried out according to people’s needs through funds of the District Planning Committee. He said the open gym would help people adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Janhit Samiti General Secretary Vinod Sharma and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and social worker Jagtar Singh Jaggi said that the demand for an open gym at Baradari Bagh had been pending for a long time. They said the facility would greatly benefit people visiting the park for morning and evening walks and exercise.

MC Kawaljit Kaur Jaggi thanked Tejinder Mehta and the District Planning Committee, saying that the long-pending demand of the residents for an open gym at the Children’s Park in Baradari Bagh had now been fulfilled.

To mark the occasion, a plantation drive was also organised. Tejinder Mehta and other dignitaries planted saplings and gave a message of environmental protection. Dustbins were also installed in the park to help maintain cleanliness.

Those present on the occasion included Horticulture Department Deputy Director Dr Harinder Singh Chahal, Bal Krishan Bindal, Satish Joshi, Chaman Lal Garg, Satpal Parashar, Amrinder Singh, Aggarwal Welfare Board Chairman Trilok Jain, Ward No. 32 President Atul Goyal, District Social Media In-charge Sumit Takeja, youth leader Surinder Nikku, Surjit Guru Dakala, office-bearers of Janhit Samiti and local residents.
