Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Patiala, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that special camps will be organised at all polling booths across Patiala district on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to facilitate voters in checking and verifying their names in the Draft Electoral Roll published under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026.
He said that the Draft Electoral Roll was published on August 13, while the second phase of SIR-2026 commenced on the same day and will continue till September 12, 2026. During the special camps, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain present at their respective polling booths from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to assist voters.
The Deputy Commissioner said that voters can visit the special camps to check and verify their names and particulars in the Draft Electoral Roll. Eligible voters whose names have been left out can also submit Form 6, Form 6A and Form 8, wherever applicable, along with the required declaration and supporting documents.
He directed the concerned officials to ensure that BLOs have sufficient copies of Forms 6 and 8 available at the camps and that duly filled forms are properly deposited with the concerned Electoral Registration Officers.
Dr. Aggarwal also appealed to all eligible voters to make maximum use of the special camps and actively participate in the SIR-2026 process. He said that recognised political parties are also being informed about the camps through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) so as to facilitate greater public participation.
He further directed the concerned departments to ensure that polling booth buildings remain open on August 16 and that all necessary arrangements are made for the smooth conduct of the camps.
The Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to participate in the special camps and carefully verify their names and details in the Draft Electoral Roll so that eligible voters can exercise their right to vote without any difficulty.
