Patiala News:Directions to DC Municipal Corporation to shift unauthorized fish vendors to new fish market by August 31

*Allotment of paddy fields will be done by the Mandi Board on August 24*

Unauthorized fish sellers in Patiala city should be ensured to shift to the new fish market by 31st August 2026. This was revealed today by Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal while meeting with the officials of the Municipal Corporation and District Fish Department. He said that appropriate action will be taken against the vendors selling fish outside the fish market as per the rules.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal also directed to form a joint team of Municipal Corporation Patiala, Fisheries Department, District Fisheries Officer, Secretary Market Committee and Food Safety Department to conduct regular checking. He said that if any vendor is found violating the rules on the spot, strict action should be taken against him.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Secretary Market Committee and the District Fish Officer to take necessary action to allot fish to the vendors selling fish at different places of the city at the Fish Market Patiala. He said that the applicants who are interested in allotting fish can apply till 21st August 2026 and the action to allot fish will be taken at the Fish Market Patiala on 24th August 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness and compliance with rules in the market designated for the sale of fish, so that a clean environment can be maintained in the city and a proper place can also be provided to the fish vendors.
On this occasion, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Simarpreet Kaur, officials from Fisheries and Food Safety Department and other departments were also present.
